Chevrolet — Stingray Concept (SIDESWIPE)

Yes, this is the car that was a character in the latest Transformers movie this past summer. Character name: Sideswipe.

This concept draws from the first Stingray, and specifically pays homage to the 1963 Split Window Corvette. Gone are the smooth Corvette curves, and in it's place are some incredibly hot edges.

SIDESWIPE takes the form of a sleek, vision concept dreamed up by the Corvette designers at GM. The design is influenced by the original Stingray race car, introduced in 1959, but also draws on Corvette heritage cues from other generations. It brings them together in a futuristic shape that seems to be equal parts racecar and space ship.
